AEP-YOUTH / BRIDGE AFRICA VENTURES: A WIN-WIN COLLABORATION

AEP-Youth partners with Bridge Africa Ventures to enable Agropastoral Entrepreneurs to have Digital Identities.

#We are Young, #We are Connected, #We are Agriculture, #We are Livestock, #We are the future. This is the hashtag of this campaign which is in full swing on the social networks. A photograph, a link and a message that invites the user for discovery. Entrepreneurs are investing on the web. They communicate about their products.  The smile on their faces reveals the viability of their activities. These enterprises are booming. The young agro-pastoral entrepreneurs now have digital identities. This is unprecedented. Hundreds of young entrepreneurs now own websites. With or without internet connection, they have access to their websites. This is one of the advantages of this platform.  Each entrepreneur uses their charm on the platform to present their best assets and convince potential customers. In a single click, for instance, you can access information on Fotsing Stéphane, owner of “Pepper Productions” in the Loum neighbourhood. He uses his structure to produce and market pepper. For more information on this young dynamic entrepreneur, follow him on the link  stephanefotsing63.bridgeafrica.com. This is a reality: Digital technology is at the service of agriculture. This opportunity that has been offered to young people is the fruit of the partnership between the AEP-Youth Programme and Bridge Africa Ventures.

The ultimate aim of this collaboration is to boost the local content of agricultural entrepreneurship in Cameroon. More than 3,000 young entrepreneurs are targeted.

To achieve this objective, Bridge Africa Ventures is working with the Business Coaches of the AEP-Youth Programme. These coaches are trained on how to create websites on the bridgeafrica.com platform, networking and on how to improve digital IDs. The well-trained business coaches go to the field to empower the young entrepreneurs to obtain digital identities. Indeed, we have already observed that this action has contributed to the empowerment of the young entrepreneurs.

Young people in Cameroon, especially those in the agro-pastoral sector will benefit from the sharing of information online so that they may be present and achieve success in a rapidly changing world.  At the end of the project, the agro-pastoral entrepreneurs shall be expected to exploit the potentials of digital technology to develop their businesses, increase their productivity and improve the country’s overall economy
